| Abstract: | A 73-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of septicemia associated with infection of an old retained pacemaker lead and a reimplanted pacemaker system. After general condition was recovered, the pacemaker system was removed and then the retained pacemaker lead was removed through median sternotomy. Then a new pacemaker system was implanted using myocardial leads. The postoperative course was uneventful. |
