Clinical observation on warming acupuncture and moxibustion with Qiang Fang Qubi Decoction in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis of type of cold-dampness impediment obstruction

Objective It is to observe the clinical curative effect of warming acupuncture and moxibustion with Qiang Fang Qubi Decoction in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis of type of cold-dampness impediment obstruction.Methods Sixty patients with knee osteoarthritis of type of cold-dampness impediment obstruction treated in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine from November 2018 to November 2019 were divided into treatment group and control group according to the random number method,30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with celecoxib capsules orally,and the treatment group was treated with warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Qiang Fang Qubi Decoction based on the control group.Both groups were treated for 8 weeks.The changes of indexes of liver and kidney function,TCM symptom score,VAS score,Lysholm knee joint function score before and after treatment were observed in the two groups,and the efficacy of TCM syndromes was evaluated.Results There was no significant difference in liver function[alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(AKP),renal function[(creatinine(Cr),urea nitrogen(BUN)]between the two groups before and after treatment(all P>0.05).After treatment,the scores of TCM symptoms and total scores,VAS scores,and Lysholm knee joint function scores of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the improvements of the scores of the treatment group were significantly better than those of the control group(all P<0.05).After treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 90.0%(28/30),which was significantly higher than that 73.3%(21/30)in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Warm acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Qiang Fang Qubi Decoction is safe and effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis of type of cold-dampness impediment obstruction,which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of the patient,relieve pain,and improve the patient’s knee joint function.
