Observation on therapeutic effect of yuan-source points and collateral-points combination with rehabilitation training on hand spasm after stroke

Objective It is to observe and compare the clinical effects of yuan-source points and collateral-points combination with rehabilitation training and rehabilitation training alone in the treatment of hand spasm after stroke.Methods Sixty patients with post-stroke hand spasm treated in Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 30 cases in each group.The control group only was treated with rehabilitation training alone,including Bobath technique,OT work therapy,and hand function training,once a day;the observation group was treated with acupuncture at yuan-source points and collateral points in large intestine meridian of hand-Yangming and lung meridian of hand-Taiyin on the basis of rehabilitation training,namely Hegu acupoint first,then Lieque acupoint,once a day,the two treatments were performed 5 times a week,rested for 2 days on weekends,10 times as a course of treatment,a total of 4 treatment cycles.After 4 courses of treatment,the clinical efficacy was evaluated by the modified Ashworth scale,simplified Fugl-Meyer finger motor function score,and modified Barthel index scale.Results After treatment,the degree of spasticity,Fugl-Meyer hand motor function score,and modified Barthel index score of the two groups were significantly improved compared to before treatment(P<0.05),and the grade of spasticity in the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),the finger motor function scores and Barthel index scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(both P<0.05).Conclusion The method of yuan-source points and collateral-points combination with rehabilitation training is more effective than simple rehabilitation training in improving finger movement function,reducing muscle tension and improving daily life ability after stroke.
