Expressions of Serum Dkk3 and Gal-3 and Their Correlations with Ventricular Remodeling in Patients with Ischemic Cardiomyopathy

Objective To analyze expressions of serum tumor suppressor genes DKK3 and galectin-3(Gal-3)in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy(ICM)and their correlations with ventricular remodeling.Methods A total of 61 patients with ICM admitted between January 2018 and May 2020 were collected as ICM group,and other 53 healthy volunteers who had undergone physical examinations at the same period were selected as healthy group.Serum expressions of DKK3 and Gal-3 and cardiac function indexesleft ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left atrial diameter(LA),right ventricular diameter(RV)and left ventricular end diastolic dimension(LVEDD)]were compared between two groups.Pearson correlation was used to analyze correlations between serum expressions of DKK3 and Gal-3 with ventricular remodeling.Results In ICM group,serum expression of DKK3 and LVEF were significantly lower,while serum expression of Gal-3 and LVEDD were significantly higher than those in healthy group(P<0.01).There were no significant differences in LA and RV between two groups(P>0.05).Serum expression of DKK3 positively correlated with LVEF and negatively correlated with LVEDD(P<0.05,P<0.01).Serum expression of Gal-3 negatively correlated with LVEF and positively correlated with LVEDD(P<0.05,P<0.01).Serum expressions of DKK3 and Gal-3 did not correlate with LA and RV(P>0.05).Conclusion DKK3 expression is down-regulated,and Gal-3 expression is up-regulated in the serum of ICM patients.Both of them are significantly correlated with ventricular remodeling in patients with ICM.
