Abstract:The effect of doxorubicin on the dynamics of cell proliferation and protein content was investigated by the flow cytometer. The results showed that the percentage of cell in cycle G1 phases was increased greatly, but the percentage of cell in G2+M phase and the proliferation index were decreased . In addition, the contents of DNA and protein were decreased (P<0.01). The results revealed that doxorubicin would have greater inhibitory effects on proliferation cycle and protein synthesis in the primary cultures of neonatal rat myocardial cells.
