Computers and education: Where we are and where we might be going
Authors:Michael Buckingham
Abstract:This article examines the recent rapid innovation of micro-computers into schools and the range of uses to which they may be put. A number of issues arise from this, both specific in the sense of the challenges (or problems) this creates for the teacher and general issues such as the control and direction of the innovation. Finally, some speculation will be made on possible long-term developments, not just on formal education but in its relationship with the wider society.
