Abstract: | A globalization of drinking seems to be taking place. Alcohol prevention and related research become more and more a topic of national and international interest. This in itself is a positive development. However, local and regional efforts are necessary too. This article makes a plea for a stronger emphasis on local and regional research. Different goals in local/regional alcohol research are distinguished. |
