Comparative study of SPECT/CT and MRI in the diagnosis of single vertebral bone tumors

Objective:To investigate and compare the diagnostic values of SPECT/CT and MRI in single vertebral bone tumors.Methods:From August 2014 to June 2018,54 patients with single vertebral body tumors diagnosed by surgical pathology were selected in our hospital that included 38 patients with benign tumors(benign group)and 16 patients with malignant tumors(malignant group).The SPECT/CT and MRI characteristics of all patients were recorded and the diagnostic values were determined.Results:The SUV max and SUV ave values of the SPECT/CT parameters of the malignant group were significantly higher than those of the benign group(P<0.05).MRI showed there were statistically significant differences in tumor size,morphology,bone destruction,marginal calcification,spinal canal involvement compared between the benign group and the malignant group(P<0.05).The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of SPECT/CT in the diagnosis of single vertebral bone tumors were 86.8%,100.0%and 92.3%.The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of MRI in the diagnosis of single vertebral bone tumors were 97.4%,100.0%and 97.7%.Conclusion:The combination of PECT/CT and MRI in the diagnosis of single vertebral bone tumor can give full play to their imaging advantages,thus improve the diagnostic effect.
