| Abstract: | Objective To investigate the connection between thyroid function and metabolic syndrome among elderly people.Methods This is a retrospective study with 1077 elderly people whom attended their annual health examination in our hospital during 2009.Results The prevalence of metabolic syndrome showed a negative correlation with serum FT4 level.The prevalence was 21.94%,7.91%,15.04% and 9.43% for the subjects with serum FT4 level in quartile 1,quartile 2,quartile 3 and quartile 4 respectively(Ptrend<0.001).Multi... |
