Abstract: | Fungal infections have historically been, and remain important causes of transplant-related morbidity in recipients of hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). However, there have been notable changes in the epidemiology and outcomes of invasive fungal infections, induced by changes in the transplant procedures as well as supportive care. This review discusses invasive fungal infections in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients, with a focus on the host and the two most common infections, candidiasis and those caused by moulds. |
