Connective tissue generates mechanical tension during contraction of the vascular wall

Abstract:It is shown that the contractions of isolated aorta strips, induced by phorbol ester (phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate), a synthetic diacylglycerol mimetic, are not attended by changes in the rigidity of the strips.
