Abstract: | Frontal craniotomy incision was used for operations on ethmoidofrontal benign and malignant tumors involving anterior skull base, traumatic C.S.F. rhinorrhea and congenital meningoencephalocele. Since 1982, 21 patients have had their surgical or traumatic defects repaired with frontal pericranial flap covered with muscle flap. Both flaps were tailored to support the cranial contents. No cerebrospinal fluid leakage and meningitis occurred postoperatively in our series. The technique provides a significant advantage over previously described procedures. |
