Abstract:An antitumor constituent maytansine was isolated from the leaves of Maytenus confertiflorus J. Y. Luo et X. X. Chen (Celastraceae). In addition, five crystalline compounds were isolated and identified as dulcitol(Ⅰ), succinic acid (Ⅱ), syringic acid (Ⅲ), 3-oxykojic acid (Ⅳ) and loliollde (Ⅴ) respectively.
