Abstract: | One-way mixed lymphocyte reaction with PPD in healthy volunteers and in patients suffering from tuberculosis gave us no correlation with the degree of Mantoux sensitization. There were two major indications for further study: (a) An adequate stimulation index (SI) against PPD in vitro in tuberculosis patients correlated with satisfactory treatment results in a higher percentage than did a low stimulation index. (b) In patients, a lower PPD concentration seems to be needed for a stimulation index greater than one than in healthy individuals. |
