Abstract: | Since a decade, some studies had discussed preventive and curative treatment of infants born to mothers with meconium-stained amniotic fluid. Today amnio-infusion, formerly proposed, is reconsidered in countries where midwives and obstetricians carefully monitor the fetal heart rate tracing during labor. Actually routine intrapartum oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal suctioning, before and after shoulders delivery, followed by tracheal suction, are not recommended for infants born to mothers with meconium stained amniotic fluid. |
