Abstract: | In the treatment of tuberculosis the patients normally receive a two month daily treatment with Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Pyrazinamid and Ethambutol, followed by a daily treatment with Isoniazid and Rifampicin for four month. The atypical mycobacterial infections can be addressed as a local infection and are amendable to surgical therapy, eventually followed by a daily treatment with antibiotics for four to twelve weeks. In Germany it is obligatory to inform the local public health department about typical mycobacterial infections. Hygiene procedures following German law are discussed in this review. |
