| Abstract: | Objective To explore the experience of home-based rehabilitation in patients following lower limbs bone transport,and to provide a benchmark for standardizing the rehabilitation management of patients.Methods From February to July 2021,purposive sampling method was used to select 15 patients following lower limbs bone transport who underwent routine follow-up treatment from the department of traumatic orthopedics in a tertiary hospital in Guangdong Province.Semi-structured interviews were conducted and interview data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s 7-step analysis method.Results The experience of home-based rehabilitation in patients following lower limbs bone transport could be summarized into five themes:physical changes,life affected,inadequate self-management,great psychological burden,and struggling to cope with challenges.Conclusions Patients following lower limbs bone transport have a complex home-based rehabilitation experience.Medical staff should provide specific support according to patients’different needs and enhance their self-management ability,to promote the rehabilitation process and improve their quality of life. |
