| Abstract: | The shear bond strength of a composite resin bonded to an etched glass ionomer was examined. Results indicate that shear bond strength between the two materials is greater than the cohesive strength of the glass ionomer itself. This property combined with other beneficial properties of glass ionomer materials may lead to their use as bases for composite resin restorations. |
