Clinical investigation on the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and steaming therapy in the treatment of hypermyotonia after cerebral infarction

Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and steaming therapy in the treatment of hypermyotonia after cerebral infarction.Methods A total of 124 patients with hypermyotonia after cerebral infarction were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 62 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicines,while the observation group was treated with the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and steaming therapy combined with acupuncture.The clinical efficacy,changes in the NIHSS score,BI index,CSI score,FMA score,Ashworth score,serum factor level,and TCM syndrome score were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.16%,which was higher than 77.42% of the control group (P<0.05).The NIHSS score,CSI score,and Ashworth score of the observation group 4 weeks and 8 weeks after treatment were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05),while the BI index and FMA score were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).The levels of the serum factors of CGRP and NO after treatment in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,while the levels of BK and ET-1 were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).The TCM syndrome scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion The traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and steaming therapy combined with acupuncture can effectively improve the neuromuscular function,reduce the muscle tension,balance yin and yang of the body,nourish tendons and muscles,promote the recovery of the limb function,improve the exercise capacity and self-care ability.
