Exploration on the clinical effect of the electroacupuncture stimulation on patients with an early analgesia after a lumbar fusion surgery

Objective To explore the clinical effect of the electroacupuncture stimulation on patients with an early analgesia after a lumbar fusion surgery.Methods A total of 59 patients with a lumbar fusion surgery were enrolled in this study,and they were randomly divided into an electroacupuncture treatment group (29 cases) and a control group (30 cases).The control group took celecoxib orally,200 mg each time,twice a day for 2 weeks,while in the electroacupuncture treatment group,24 hours after the operation,the two sides of Weizhong (B40),Chengfu (B36),Yanglingquan (G34),and Zusanli (S36) were stimulated with electroacupuncture for 30 minutes,once a day,for a total of 2 weeks.The VAS score,ODI score,and degree of straight leg elevation were compared between the two groups on the first day,the third day,the first week and the second week after surgery.Results Compared with the first day after surgery,the VAS scores and ODI scores of pain in lower extremities and the waist in the two groups were lower than those on the third day,the first week and the 2nd week after surgery,while the degree of straight leg elevation was increased,and all the above indexes in the electroacupuncture treatment group were better than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion The electroacupuncture treatment can relieve rigidity of muscles,activate collaterals and relieve pain,reducing the pain of patients after the lumbar surgery and the use of analgesics by increasing tissue metabolism,promoting qi and blood circulation and eliminating inflammatory edema.
