Abstract: | The effect of M. longifolia crude ethanol extract (F1), as well as fractions rich in luteolin glycosides (F2), apigenin glycosides (F3) and phenolic acids (F4) on intestine motility, spontaneous motility, pentobarbital induced sleep and bile secretion have been investigated. The crude ethanol extract was effective only on intestinal motility, apigenin and luteolin glycosides active on spontaneous motility. Phenolic acids were found to possess significant spasmodic, choleretic and CNS stimulative effects. |
