Treatment of disseminated onychomycosis due to Trichophyton rubrum with itraconazole under control of plasma levels |

Abstract: | Successful treatment of a disseminated Trichophyton rubrum infection of the nails is reported. Under therapy with 50 mg/100 mg itraconazole daily total remission was achieved after 5 months (finger nails) and 6 months (toe nails) respectively. Plasma levels of itraconazole were determined twice a month to control the regularity of the treatment using HPLC. |
