Knee arthroscopic meniscus plasty for treatment of meniscus injury in young patients

Objective To explore the effect of meniscus plasty under knee arthroscopy on meniscus injury in young patients.Methods Arthroscopic meniscus plasty was used to treat 80 young patients with meniscus injuries.At the last follow-up,Lysholm score,Tegner score,KOOS score and clinical symptoms were used to evaluate the efficacy.Results All patients were followed up for 12~68(26.8±2.0)months.At the last follow-up,the clinical symptoms of the patients were improved than those before operation,especially the symptoms of joint strangulation and pain were significantly improved.Lysholm,Tegner and KOOS scores were significantly higher than those before operation(P<0.001).According to the functional score and clinical symptoms of the last follow-up,the results were excellent in 56 cases,good in 17,fair in 7,the excellent and good rate was 91.25%.Conclusions Knee arthroscopic meniscus plasty for meniscus injury in young patients has a significant effect,which can significantly improve the daily activities and sports level of the patients,especially for the improvement of the symptoms of joint strangulation and pain.
