Abstract: | Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)- positive patients are known to have a higher risk of cardiovascular complications that are related to the underlying infection itself and also to the complications of their medical treatment. As longevity of these patients has increased owing to the advances in antiretroviral therapies, cardiovascular diseases including coagulative disorders may be more commonly encountered. A case of a right ventricular mass in an asymptomatic HIV positive patient detected by echocardiography is presented and the surgical management is described. |
