Drug utilization review of latamoxef sodium based upon weighted TOPSIS method in pediatric use

OBJECTIVE To establish weighted TOPSIS method for evaluating Latamoxef Sodium and provide references for rational dosing of Latamoxef Sodium in pediatrics. METHODS The rational dosing evaluation system of Latamoxef Sodium was established with reference to its package insert and the relevant guidelines.After a literature review,120 archived medical records of Latamoxef Sodium in the first half of 2019 at a hospital were evaluated according to these rules.RESULTS Among 120 cases,there were 16 cases in relative proximity>90%(13.3%),28 cases in relative proximity between 80%to 90%(23.3%),32 cases in relative proximity between 70%to 80%(26.7%),27 cases in relative proximity between 60%to 70%(22.5%)and 17 cases in relative proximity<60%(14.2%).CONCLUSION To adopt Weighted TOPSIS is both reasonable and feasible as a drug utilization method of Latamoxef Sodium in pediatrics.Apparently irrational use of Latamoxef Sodium still persists in clinical practices.Thus it is imperative to render drug dosing more standardized and rational.
