Effect of Alexithymia on Identity-contingent Expression Aftereffects

Objective To explore the identity-contingent expression aftereffects in alexithymia.Methods A total of 20 alexithymics and 20 non-alexithymics were screened out in university students,they were required to pass the test of identity-contingent expression aftereffects.Result ①No significant difference was found in no-adaptation trials between the two groups（F=2.1,P=0.15）.②Adaptation trials revealed no significant differences in expression aftereffects between the two groups（F=7.1,P0.05）.③Significant difference was noted in expression aftereffects between the same-identity condition and the different-identity condition.Conclusion Alexithymics have deficit in facial expression processing,reveal the significant differences in expression aftereffects.
