Lessons for building the modern combination mechanism between clinic and prevention learned from public health emergency were discussed in the paper. The SARS crisis has shown the severity of separation between clinic and prevention existed in the management system of public health in China. It was recommended that we should reform the existing hospital accreditation standard, increase the proportion of disease control and prevention in hospital evaluation; reform the model of medical education, promote cooperation with multi-disciplines and trans-specialities; strengthen construction of department of prevention care in healthcare organization, standardized do well in control of nosocomial infections; unified standardized construct health intelligence network; so as to build the modern communication system between disease control and prevention and clinic.
