| Abstract: | Objective To evaluate the efficacy of medical ethanol intracystic irrigation in the treatment of non-free iris cyst.Methods The clinical data of 15 eyes of 15 cases of non-free iris cyst received medical ethanol intracystic irrigation were analyzed retrospectively.All cases included 13 eyes of 13 cases from 2005 to 2016 in the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and 2 eyes of 2 cases from 2017 to 2019 in Henan Provincial People’s Hospital.The efficacy of medical ethanol intracystic irrigation for the non-free iris cyst was evaluated.Results There was no significant difference in visual acuity between 1 day after surgery and before surgery(Z=-0.540,P=0.590).The intraocular pressure(IOP)at 1 day after surgery was higher than that before surgery(t=-4.380,P=0.002).The difference in visual acuity and IOP were not statistically significant between the last follow-up and before surgery(Z=-0.360,P=0.722;t=-2.090,P=0.081).Cyst did not recur at the last follow-up,and there was no complication such as corneal endothelial decompensation,endophthalmitis or choroidal detachment.Conclusion Medical ethanol irrigation is safe and effective for the treatment of non-free iris cyst. |
