| Abstract: | Initial investigations presented that the treatment of diabetic women with pregnancy and lactation with metformin is safe and effective, it does not appear to be harmful to mothers and infants.However, large, randomized controlled, prospective studies are still needed to ascertain the short- and long-term efficacy and safety of metformin to mothers and infants. |
