Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of the infections in patients undergoing implantation of permanent pacemaker after one year.Methods A total of 3547 patients with implantation of cardiac implantable electronic device(CIED)who was treated from January 2016 to June 2019 were recruited as study objects and divided into infection group(n=70)and non-infection group(n=3477).The data of signs and laboratory examination indicators were observed and compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results The rate of delay infection of CIED implantation was 1.97%.The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors for the postoperative infections in the patients with CIED included the time of implantation(OR=1.059,95%CI:1.031-1.088,P<0.01),the age of patients(OR=1.049,95%CI:1.008-1.191,P=0.02),the number of operation(OR=1.132,95%CI:1.021-3.258,P=0.01),whether receiving temporary pacemaker(OR=0.241,95%CI:0.064-0.913,P=0.036),and the length time of last operation in hospital(OR=3.457,95%CI:1.979-6.039,P<0.01).ROC curve analysis indicted that the best cutoff points for risk factors for infection were 59 years old,13.5 months of implantation,1.8 times of operation,and 2.5 days in hospital respectively.Conclusion The risks of delay infection for CIED were the time of implantation,the age of patients,the number of operation,whether receiving temporary pacemaker,and the length time of last operation in hospital.Removal of the pacemaker is an effective way to treat postoperative infections.
