Pathological diagnosis of odontogenic cysts and odontogenic tumors

The jaw bones are the most common sites for epithelial cysts and tumors in the human skeleton，and most of which have an odontogenic origin. They constitute a very diverse group of lesions that reflects the complexity of odontogenesis. Odontogenic cysts and tumors occur predominantly within the jaws， with a predilection for young people. Some aggressive lesions often produce marked facial deformity and tend to recur after insufficient surgery. This article is intended to discuss problems with respect to a few common forms of odontogenic cysts and tumors.
