Argument on Hormone Replacement Therapy in Postmenopausal Women

The efficacy of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been approved in recent years. Each year, there are approximately 20 millions women receiving HRT in the world. But since July, 2002, when the results of clinical trials were announcement by WHI, HRT received an unprecedented challenge, which makes people feel puzzled deeply. How to scientifically analyzed the advantage and disadvantages of HRT has already become the focus that people have paid close attention to. This article reviewed the background of HRT in recent years, objectively analyzed the correlations of HRT with cardiovascular and breast diseases and living quality, aiming at offering theoretical basis for clinical doctor on rational, standard and individualiged use of HRT.
