臭氧导致细菌L型形成的观察

试验证明，金黄色葡萄球菌、大肠杆菌、绿脓杆菌和蜡状杆菌经臭氧作用后，在部分未被杀灭的细菌中，约有０．４～９．９％转变为细菌Ｌ型。细菌Ｌ型在菌落、形态、染色特性、生化反应与超微结构等方面，均有别于原菌。

OBSERVATION ON FORMATION OF BACTERIALL-FORMS INDUCED BY OZONE

It had been reported that ultraviolet disinfection could induce L一forms formation fromthe surviving bacteria. The present study indicated that ozone treatment could also causebacterial L一forms formation in Staphylcoccus aureus, Escherichia coli,Pseudomonasaeruginosa and Bacillus cereus. The colonies of L一forms exhibited granular,filamentousand fried一egg shapes,The bacterial colonies formed were few on first day,increased on sec-ond and third days and did not change in number during 4th to 7th days,The morphology,staining characteristics,changes of biochemical reaction an d rupture of cell wall of the bacterial cells were essentially similar to those of the L一forms induced by ultraviolet irradiation. Atavism could occur in the L一forms formed and the original forms of bacteria were restored after 7～8 passages on ordinary nutrient agar medium. The experiment indi-cated that the rate of bacterial L一forms formation was 0.4～0.9 % after exposure to ozone and was highest in S. aureus and B. cereus. The colonies of L一forms should be counted as surviving bacteria in germicidal experiment.Since the bacterial L一forms grow slowly and donot reach the growth peak until the 2nd or 3rd day,the cultures incubated for more than 3 days should be used for observing the results.
