Abstract: | The purpose of this exhibit is to introduce the reader to the technique of temporomandibular joint arthrography. The normal anatomy and motion of the joint will be discussed and followed by a brief description of the arthrographic technique. Examples of normal arthrograms and common arthrographic abnormalities will be presented. These common abnormalities include reducible and irreducible anterior dislocation of the articular disc and perforations of the posterior discal ligament. Less common abnormalities of partial perforation and intra-articular loose bodies will also be illustrated. |
