Implantation of angle-supported anterior chamber phakic intraocular lens (AS IOLs) is a new technology for correcting high and superhigh myopia in recent years.With improvement of intraocular lens material and accumulation of clinical experience.Recent advances of phakic angle-supported intraocular lens has made this refractive surgical technique safe,effective,very predictable,reversible,keeping accommodation and little hurt to the corneal endothelium.Due to their advantages,implantation of angle-supported anterior chamber phakic intraocular lens will be one of the popular refractive surgery and will enlarge his clinical use as a new refractive surgical technique in the future.The history of this surgery,design of the intraocular lens,its indication and contraindication,preoperative and postoperative management,recognition and management of complications etc were reviewed.
