Survey and Analysis on Mental Health Knowledge of Urban and Rural Residents

Objective To learn the status of understanding mental health knowledge of urban and rural residents in Baoding,in order to provide the basis for targeted propaganda and education,and popularizing mental health knowledge.Methods Referring to two urban and rural demonstration areas of re-treatment of mental disease management program（＂686 Project＂） as investigate group,3854 of community physicians,community leaders,families of patients with mental illness and the general population were regarded as key-point to be surveyed.Results ①The total awareness rate was 56.91%,and urban residents was 58.97%,that of rural residents was 55.55%;② the awareness rate of urban and rural residents showed significant difference（χ2=12.94,P0.01）,the identification to common mental disorders showed significant difference（χ2=3.99,P0.05）,the knowledge to mental illness risk behavior showed no significant difference（χ2=2.83,P0.05）;③the awareness rate of different groups showed significant difference（χ2=353.22,P0.001）.Conclusion The awareness rate of mental health knowledge of urban and rural residents are quite different,and that of the rural population is generally low.
