| Abstract: | Single cardiac myocytes provide a model widely used to characterize the electrophysiological properties of drugs and to identify new therapeutic targets. This review focuses on isolation procedures to obtain single cardiac myocytes from several mammal species, including humans, and on patch-clamp technique as a useful method to investigate the molecular mechanism of druy actions. |
