| Abstract: | Objective To evaluate the status and relationship between levels of suicidal ideation, depression and social support among undergraduates. Methods A questionnaire was conducted among 1 177 university undergradu- ates, with SDSS, SDS, SSRS as the tools, in the method of random, multistage, stratification and cluster sampling. Results The positive rate of suicidal ideation was 6.3%. Suicidal ideation has a significant negative correlation with social support and a positive correlation with depression. Conclusion So there was a strong positive relationship between suicidal ideation, and depression as well as social support. It is significantly important to have a thorough knowledge of depression and social support among undergraduates to prevent suicidal conducctions. |
