| Abstract: | A 67-year-old patient with metastatic renal cell cancer was treated with fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy to a hemorrhagic pons metastasis. He then developed multiple cystic brain lesions, suggestive of diffuse metastatic spread. However, further work-up revealed abscesses from bronchopneumonia. Diagnostic and therapeutic aspects as well as potential pitfalls in the management of patients with brain metastases are discussed. |
