Abstract: | A correlation is shown between the duodenal content of serotonin in the red-cheeked souslik and the period of hibernation. The serotonin concentration in the tissue is maximal at the beginning of the hypothermia period and minimal at the end of this period. During spontaneous awakening (winter normothermia) the necessary amount of amine is produced.
