Abstract:The dental caries experience of a sample of 212 children with Down's syndrome was contrasted with that of 124 of their unaffected sibs. The affected children had a caries experience less than one-third that of the sibs. The experience of the sibs, however, was not different from that of other normal children. This differential caries experience could not be explained by differences between the groups in their exposure to risk of the disease.
