Abstract: | In adults, paradoxical embolization of catheters or guidewire fragments related to central venous catheterization is a rare phenomenon. Reports of successful percutaneous retrieval of foreign bodies from the left atrium is also rare. We describe the successful percutaneous retrieval of a fractured guidewire that had undergone paradoxical embolization to the left atrium in an adult patient. |
