Abstract:Objective To study the effect of atorvastatin on inflammation of coronary artery in patients with unstable angina, to assess if different-dose atorvastatin result in different ontcome. Methods Patients with unstable angina were randomized to atorvastatin 10mg/d or 20mg/d or 40mg/d or controls. Then mensurated the serum concentrotion of CRP and IL-6 on the subjects in different groups, to assess the effect of atorvastatin on inflammation in patients with unstable angina. Results Comparing all group of taking atorvastatin with controls, we found that atorvastatin can reduce CRP markedly, especially with high-dose atorvastatin, but has little effect on IL-6. Conclusion Early high-dose atorvastatin therapy can markedly decline inflammation in patient with unstable angina.
Keywords:Atorvastatin  Unstable angina  Inflammation of coronary artery  CRP  IL-6
