| Abstract: | Idiopathic segmental infarction of the greater omentum is an unusual cause of acute abdomen. The preoperative diagnosis is difficult. Before laparotomy the diagnosis is hardly ever considered; the authors report a personal case and describe etiologic hypotheses and the clinical picture of this disease. |
