| Abstract: | Objective To investigate the value of S-100B protein as a biology marker in diagnosing,classifying and treating traumatic intracranial haematoma.Methods Totally 116 cases of traumatic intracranial haematoma were included in this study,and divided into three groups including epidural hematoma group(52 cases),subdural hematoma group(32 cases),intracerebral hematoma group(32 cases) based on head CT.Venous blood samples for S-100B protein were obtained as soon as possible after admission and every 24 hours during the 3-7 days after injury.Three groups were compared with each other.Results Patients with intracerebral hematoma had significantly higher serum S-100B values compared with other groups,and the serum S-100B value in the subdural hematoma group was different with that in the epidural hematoma group.Conclusion S-100B protein has reliable value in the diagnosis and prognosis of traumatic intracranial haematoma. |
