Surgical treatment of retinal detachment with and without puncture of the subretinal space

Proposed are indications for a drainage of the subretinal space on the basis of results of 345 retinal detachment operations with and without evacuation of the subretinal fluid. These indications are dependent on the recognition of the so called prognostical factors unfavourable for the surgical treatment of retinal detachment.
