Sixty-one cases of infantile diarrhea treated with acupuncture

The authors have treated 61 cases of infantile diarrhea with acupuncture on Changgiang(长强GV 1)and Zllsanll(足三里ST 36).The report is as follows. CLINICAL DATA All these 61 cases were out-patients and inpatients, of which, 32 cases were male and 29 cases were female, aged from 3 months to 2 years, the duration of sickness was from 3 to 7 days.The main manifestation was diarrhea, indicated as more than 10 times watery defecation and indigestion.They were treated by fluid therapy resulting in unsatisfying curative effects and asked for acupuncture treatment as well.According to the Chinese medicine differentiation,these were 26 cases of wind-cold diarrhea, 21 cases of damp-heat diarrhea, 8 cases of improper diet diarrhea and 6 cases of spleen deficiency diarrhea.
