| Abstract: | Objective:To explore the relationship of the expression of ras P21 in stomach and development ofgastric cancer, the expression of ras P21 oncoprotein was qualitatively analysed in gastric cancer and precan-cerous lesion. Methods: The amount of P21 has been assessed by immunohistochemical quantitative analysis using image analyzer in normal mucosa, precancerous lesion and cancer. Result: The percentage of positive cases of ras P21 increased gradually, in the gastric normal mucosa, mild, moderate, severe dysplasia and carcinoma, the absorption in cytoplasm of ras P21 is 57. 082, 57. 896, 62. 531, 65. 750, 66. 139 in the sequence of gastric normal mucosa, mild, moderate, severe dysplasia and well-differentiated adenocarcinoma. In severe dysplasia both the percentage of positivity and the absorption were significantly higher than that of normal mucosa and mild dysplasia (P<0. 05) , and approaching the expression level of well-differentiated adenocarcinoma (P>0. 05). Conclusion:The results show that over expression of P21 is related with the development and differentiation degree of gastric carcinoma. Quantitative analysis using image analyzer is capable of assaying the content of ras P21 objectively in various lesions of gastric mucosa, and thus useful for the early detection of canceration. |
