| Abstract: | Summary The transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is widely used in the treatment of variceal hemorrhage and portal hypertension associated with cirrhosis. Its potential as a therapy for Budd-Chiari syndrome is less well-known. We report a case of a 15-year-old girl with Budd-Chiari syndrome who was successfully treated with a TIPS, leading to resolution of her ascites and improvement in liver function. |
