The progress of informatization in medical and health field in 2003

This is an introduction on the progress of informatization in medical and health field internationally and nationally: SARS stimulates the development of hospital information system; initially substantial progress was made in standardization of medical information in 2003; Ministry of Health worked out the main tasks in current stage for developing public health information system; the development of communicable disease surveillance/control system in CDC; regional health information system in China and the difficulties to be further studied is the standardization, hospital information system, outpatient service information system, processing system for medical imaging and the study on medium devices for hospital information system.
